Every relaxing vacation starts with a morning of sleeping in. The bed was very comfortable – especially the pillows! I began my day by sending some emails (the hotel has free wifi, which is a plus) with the beautiful view of the city from my room.
On our way downstairs, my friend and I ran into a woman from the housekeeping staff. She was very friendly, asked how my day was going and if I needed anything in my room. It was a simple gesture, but at the same time a big plus for me. I’m a sucker for good customer service.
After a day of exploring the city, my friend and I asked the hotel front desk about some good dinner recommendations. The man at the desk recommended Zapatista, just a couple blocks down Michigan Avenue. We had some delicious Mexican food and margaritas – it was a great recommendation and nice location too. Upon arriving back at the hotel, we wanted to use our free drink tickets that were included in the package. However, the drinks were to be provided by the hotel restaurant, which closes at 10:30pm, so make sure to get there before they close. We arrived back around 11pm, so we just missed it…
Overall, it was a successful vacation day. Didn’t get to shopping today, but will focus on that tomorrow!
