Breast Cancer Awareness Month

On Wednesday, October 2, 2013, Chicago’s Essex Inn, in partnership with White Way Sign Company, promotes the kickoff of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The 816 white bulbs of the Essex Inn marquee sign have been replaced with pink bulbs, adding a pink glow to Chicago’s skyline. A number of hotel-wide initiatives, along with the pink bulbs, which will remain a fixture at the Essex Inn for the next 365 days, and continue to bring Breast Cancer awareness to downtown Chicago for the next year.

In addition to their pink sign, the Essex Inn will mark the start of Breast Cancer Awareness Month on October 2 by making a $2,500 donation to their ongoing Breast Cancer charity partner, A Silver Lining Foundation, that provides cost free mammograms and diagnostic testing to uninsured and underinsured women and men at 10 partner hospitals in the greater Chicagoland area and Rockford.

We are also turning our website pink for the month of October and November! Read the full press release with more information here!

A Fresh New Look

Our renovated modernized lobby has everyone talking! Our staff and guests are very happy with the new look and the new additions it has to offer. Some of these include our Business Hub– where guests can use the internet free of charge, and print any documents they need. We also added a Work Station, which is a communal area with access to outlets. This is a great area for guests to work on their laptops at any time of day, whenever they need to unwind or catch up on some work.

Ultimately, we want to make sure our guests are comfortable and enjoying their stay in Chicago with us. Our new lobby really helps us achieve this goal – with more technology accessible to guests, as well as seating areas. Below is a glimpse of our new lobby – and we look forward to your next stay with us!
