I stay at the Essex Inn every time I’m in Chicago. Great location and they are very friendly and their rates are good. Look forward to coming in December to see the Christmas decorations!

Our all-season rooftop pool with views of Lake Michigan is located on the fourth floor. Towels are available in the pool area. Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. A lifeguard is on duty at all times.
TOPOur free fitness center is located on the fourth floor and features modern treadmills, lifecycles, elliptical machines, weight machines and free-weights. While working out, hotel guests can watch any of the available televisions. Guests must be 18 years of age and older to use the fitness center.
TOPOur free hotel shuttle bus is available to all our hotel guests. It makes several stops along Michigan Avenue—as far north as Water Tower Place and John Hancock Observatory. Stops also include Navy Pier and the Museum Campus. Contact the hotel for specific times and more information.
TOPOur lovely rooftop garden overlooks Grant Park and Lake Michigan and is located just outside the pool. It’s the ideal place to enjoy a cool drink and take in the views.

TOPDowntown parking can be an expensive and scarce commodity. Luckily the Essex Inn offers competitively priced onsite valet parking with unlimited in/out privileges. The current rate is $41/night and is subject to change. As part of our green hotel initiative, we offer special discounted parking rates for hotel guests with hybrid vehicles. Just ask when you check in. The parking garage is located on the 8th Street side of the hotel.
TOPBrasserie by LM is located in the lobby of the Essex Inn. This French inspired restaurant and bar (open daily 7:00am-10:30pm) offers a relaxed modern setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Specialties include Onion Soup Gratinee, Lyonnaise Salad, Mussels Frites, Duck Confit and Croque Monsieur. Room service is also available. Just ask at reception for details.
Guests can also enjoy domestic, French and German draft beers and a wine list complete with domestic and French options.
TOPWe are happy to store luggage for early arrivals prior to check in, and if you’d like to go for one last look around Chicago on the day you check out, just leave your bags with us at reception.
