At the Essex Inn, we know just how important it is for you to spend quality time with your family. We all have busy working lives with many responsibilities and it is not always as easy to spend as much time with our families as we would like. That’s why when you and your family choose to spend your spring break in Chicago at the Essex Inn, we work hard to ensure that you have a relaxing and exciting time. With so many fun things for you to do in the Windy City, we are certain that your stay with us will be a vacation that you remember forever. While these are just a few of the attractions and activities that can occupy your time during your families spring break, they are some of our favorites.
Visit the Shedd Aquarium
There are plenty of family friendly attractions dotted around the city and Shedd Aquarium is certainly one of the most popular. It has so much more to offer than your local aquarium that’s home to fish and sea creatures – when you visit Shedd Aquarium, you get to experience one of a kind animal encounters. You can stand on an underwater ledge and meet a beluga whale face to face, touch the feathers of the aquarium’s penguins, and even become a marine mammal trainer for a day!
360 Chicago, formally known as John Hancock Observatory
If you and your kids want to experience a view like you have never seen before, checking out the observatory is an absolute must. At a staggering 1000 feet above the ground you’ll not only experience incomparable views of Chicago, but also of the 4 surrounding states and the Lake Michigan area. Additionally, the observatory has newly installed interactive screens that will give you and your family the opportunity to learn more about the city.
Swim in our rooftop pool
When you stay with us at the Essex Inn, you don’t even have to go outside to have a good time. If you and the kids are in the mood for a lazy day after spending your vacation exploring the city’s sights, then why not take some time to relax and go swimming in our rooftop pool? By the springtime the weather will be warming up just enough for you to enjoy a drink beside the water while your kids splash around and let off some steam.
